Maybe she can kick BP’s arse

Pamela Lillian Isley is best known as Poison Ivy, who was first introduced to the world by DC Comics. She is one of  Batman’s greatest enemies – and a love interest. The supervillainess is also a prominent eco-terrorist and uses plants to create weapons. Her sole interest is the environment

She should team up with Batman and fight off the Tony Haywards of this world.

I love her Fifties pin-up look. Creator Robert Kanigher reportedly modeled her after Bettie Page.

Pow! Wow! Superhero Chic!

Famed Parisian fashion citadel Colette has joined forces with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and some top designers to celebrate the 75th anniversary of DC Comics in heroic style.

Karl Lagerfeld, Sonia Rykiel, Lanvin, Balmain, Roger Vivier, Repetto, Maison Michel, Thierry Lasry, Alexis Mabille, Pierre Hardy and Julien David have designed some overpriced apparel (Lanvin’s Dog Batman t-shirt costs 380 euros) inspired by Wonder Woman, Superman, Flash Gordon, Catwoman, Batman, Plastic Man, The Joker and Green Lantern. You can drop by at the store if you’re in Paris anytime soon (213, rue St. Honoré) or purchase online.

If Wonder Woman was parisienne, she would wear this Sonia Rykiel dress...

... and pair it with this star necklace designed by Maison Michel.

Does Karl Lagerfeld, an avid fan of cut-off gloves, fancy himself as Green Lantern?

Pierre Hardy's Superman tote for the superwoman in all of us!

My personal favorite: Repetto's Flash Gordon ballet flats!

Catwoman can kick Batman's derrière with these Roger Vivier boots!

Wonder Woman Called And Wants Her Old Look Back

And so do I.

After years of fighting villains in hot pants – very practical for those high kicks – Wonder Woman has had a makeover to celebrate her DC Comics 60th issue, and a blah one at that. It’s like Superman without tights (hey, maybe that’s not a bad idea).

I’m all for a wardrobe renewal – after all, she has been wearing the same clothes since 1941 – and something slightly less revealing, but her new look is simply a non-look. Those gloves and military-style bolero jacket make her look like an extra in an 80s Michael Jackson video. Don’t even get me started on the shoes.

But I admit that my aversion to her new look is mainly based on nostalgia. When I was little, I used to pretend I was Wonder Woman and loved the bustier top, the hot pants and the headband. It was so grown-up, so WONDERful.

Maybe she could wear her new outfit only in winter. Or just give me her old one.
